Bio

John Jakiemiec has coached high school and travel baseball for several years, and is a co-owner of Evolution Athletics, a player development academy in Naperville, IL.   Several of his players have gone on to play college baseball and beyond, including the five Pistol Shrimp Draft Picks: Fin Del Bonta-Smith (22nd Round to the Rockies in 2019), Noah Schultz (1st Round to the White Sox in 2022), Luke Adams (12th Round to the Brewers in 2022), Keshawn Ogans (20th Round to the Braves in 2022), & Jake Zitella (16th Round to the Mets in 2023).

Born and raised in Birch Run, MI, John played multiple high school sports, before going on to play college football for Dartmouth College.  During his college years, the baseball team’s roster was filled with several players that would go on to play professionally, including Mike Remlinger (the Giants #1 pick in 1987), Brad Ausmus, and Mark Johnson.

Coach Jakiemiec is a hitting and pitching instructor as well as a Certified Personal Trainer.  He credits his experience working with Tom House as the foundation for his pitching instruction, while his hitting model is derived in part from the works of Eugene Bleeker, Tom Robson, Coop DeRenne, and of course, Ted Williams!

Coach Jakiemiec is an avid outdoorsman who considers himself one of the country’s leading educators of white tail deer and ducks. He also enjoys a round of golf with friends.  He resides in San Rafael, CA with his wife Anne and dog Tucker.  The Jakiemiecs have an adult son, a daughter attending University of CA at Santa Barbara, and a son who plays baseball for the University of Wisconsin (Madison).
